Musea Maaseik frequently collaborates with private individuals, organisations and researchers. As a result, we regularly receive requests for loans, donations and the use of visual material from our collection. On this page, you will find information about the available options and procedures.

Loans

It is possible to borrow items from the museum collection for exhibitions, educational projects or academic research. Each loan request is carefully assessed on the basis of the condition of the item, its substantive relevance and practical feasibility, among other factors.

Would you like to request a loan? Please contact us well in advance at syra.kalbermatten@maaseik.be and include the following in your message:

  • the desired artefact,

  • the purpose and duration of the loan,

  • the location and the conditions in which the artefact will be displayed.

Please note that loans may be subject to conditions and costs, such as insurance, transport and conservation.

Donations

The museum welcomes donations that fit within its collection profile and mission. A donation means that the object becomes the property of the museum. Not all offered objects are suitable for inclusion in the collection.

If you wish to donate an object, please contact us in advance and provide as much information as possible, such as date, origin and any relevant documentation. The museum will assess whether the donation can be accepted.

Visual requests

Beeldmateriaal uit de museumcollectie kan, onder voorwaarden, worden gebruikt voor publicaties, onderzoek, educatieve doeleinden of media-uitingen. Voor elk gebruik is vooraf toestemming nodig.

Visual material from the museum collection may be used for research, educational purposes, media communications or publications. Permission is required in advance for any use.

Said use of visual material is subject to conditions, including source attribution and copyright.
